Program Overview

The UPMC Women’s Health Service Line and the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS) present an asynchronous Transition to Practice (TTP) program that provides the required educational material and mentorship experience for advanced practice providers (APPs) transitioning into Women’s Health specialty care. This program also provides departmental leadership involvement in APP onboarding, produce a welcoming, supportive learning environment.

Intended Audience

The APP Women’s Health TTP is mandatory for all new APP graduates hired into the Women’s Health service line.  It is also required for all APPs with less than 1 year of experience as an APP in Women’s Health. 

Start Date(s) and Duration

The individual courses may require 5-6 hours of weekly time and dedication.

This will program will continue to run in the Fall, Spring, and Summer.

Cost

This course is free to UPMC employees on the Women's Health service line.

Type of Certificate or CEU Offered

This program will grant CMEs.

Program Goals

This program will:

  • Provide a core knowledge base for women's health
  • Provide dedicated time for experiential learning
  • Support APPs as they begin their career in the field of women's health
Participant Expectations and Program Components

To complete the program successfully, participants are expected to fulfill the following:

  • Complete Mandatory Reading assignments
  • Watch mandatory lecture videos
  • Complete pre-tests and post-tests
  • Complete assessments
