Program Overview

The PreCEPT program is designed to give preceptors the confidence and tools needed to provide quality precepting/clinical experiences for students.  This program will provide preceptors with best practices, burnout prevention, resources, a supportive community, networking opportunities, and tools for overcoming common barriers to precepting.

Intended Audience

This program is intended for Clinical Preceptors of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) students (physicians, surgeons, physician associates/physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists.

This program is provided with rolling online registration.

This activity is approved for the following credit AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, ANCC, and/or AAPA Category 1 CME.

Program Learning Outcomes

By the completion of this program, participants will:

  • Identify best practices in mentoring, teaching strategies, diversity, and competency based education to better serve clinical APP students
  • Utilize various precepting tools that aid in structuring rotations, improving time management, and preventing preceptor burnout.
  • Connect with resources for continuing professional development in precepting
  • Network with other Preceptors and establish communities for resource sharing and best practices
  • Build confidence and feel equipped to provide quality precepting/clinical experiences
